Experience the diverse and captivating beauty of southern France with an electric bike tour! Our journey begins on the sweeping Atlantic beaches of the Côte d'Argent before winding through the lush vineyards of the Médoc region. We then explore the stunning landscapes of the Dordogne and Lot regions before finally tracing the tranquil Canal du Midi, where towering oak forests gradually give way to majestic, centuries-old plane trees.The cultural heritage, the gastronomy and the savoir-vivre of the South of France will fascinate us at every step. Our journey features a variety of exciting destinations, including Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion, Roman churches, prehistoric cave paintings in Les Eyzies and afterwards Carcassonne, then Narbonne. Along the way, we'll have the ultimate pleasure of gazing upon the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean at our final destination.

Day 1 : Bordeaux

You will meet your guide in Bordeaux in the afternoon. We will embark on a guided tour of Bordeaux's historic center, which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, we will enjoy a delicious dinner at a restaurant that serves traditional regional cuisine.

Day 2: The Atlantic coast and the Médoc - approx. 40 km

We transfer by bus to the Pointe de Grave, on the northern shores of the Médoc. Our electric bikes take us along the dunes to Soulac-sur-Mer. We picnic at the Port de St-Vivien. Our next stop is the renowned wine region of Médoc, where we will cycle through picturesque villages, vineyards, and moors. The ride will culminate at the Richard Lighthouse, where we will meet our bus. We'll then have the opportunity to participate in a guided wine tasting at a Château before transferring to the beautiful town of Saint-Émilion.

Day 3 : Dordogne - approx. 70 km

We start the day with a guided tour of the medieval village of St. Emilion and its monolithic church, carved into the cliff. Our journey takes us towards the Dordogne region, where we'll cycle through UNESCO-listed vineyards. Along the way, we'll take a picturesque picnic break by the water in St. Aulaye. We'll then continue our route to the old mediaeval bastide of Ste Foy-la-Grande, where we'll have a brief rest before continuing on small country roads with stunning views of the Dordogne river, eventually arriving in the charming town of Bergerac.

Day 4: Périgord and the Prehistoric Valley - approx. 75 km

The oak forests announce the Périgord Noir. Before continuing on our journey, we'll make a stop at the picturesque village of St. Alvère, renowned for its truffle market. Next, we'll head to Limeuil, which has been designated as one of the "most beautiful villages in France," where we'll enjoy a scenic picnic by the water. We then pedal on a panoramic road to Les Eyzies. On the way, we visit the impressive Sorcerer's Cave with its 15,000 year old relief representations of animals.

Day 5: In the heart of the Périgord Noir - approx. 56 km

We take small roads winding through a hilly and wooded landscape before arriving in Sarlat. This unique medieval city, labelled "City of Art and History", is also the heart of the gastronomy of the Périgord. After our break, we head for Souillac, taking advantage of a magnificent greenway upstream from the Dordogne. We visit the abbey church of Sainte-Marie, a masterpiece of Roman-Byzantine art, famous for its domes and sculpted figures. We will transfer to the stunning Lot valley, making our way towards Cahors. Later in the evening, we will have the pleasure of dining in the Art Nouveau dining room of the esteemed "Bistro 1911," which is celebrated for its exquisite regional cuisine.

Day 6: Nature and culture in the Lot - approx. 40 km

In the morning, we ride to the famous Pont Valentré before discovering medieval Cahors and its cathedral. We then follow the meandering Lot river through the wild Quercy. After a picnic by the river, and perhaps even a swim, we visit St.-Cirq-Lapopie, one of the "most beautiful villages of France" overlooking the Lot. A bus will then take us to Toulouse, which invites us for an evening stroll after dinner on the terrace.

Day 7: Along the Canal du Midi - about 50 km

The Canal du Midi begins in Toulouse, an exceptional work of art completed in 1681. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this engineering marvel transformed transportation in the southern region of France by linking the city to the Mediterranean.We ride peacefully on towpaths lined with plane trees. Following our picturesque picnic near a lock, we will make our way to the Seuil de Naurouze, the highest point where water is divided towards both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. A bus then takes us to Carcassonne, in Cathar country. After a guided tour of the medieval city and its ramparts, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will have dinner in a small restaurant in the center.

Day 8: Towards the Mediterranean beaches - approx. 67 km

Transfer to Rieux-Minervois, at the foot of the Montagne Noire. This village, linked to the Cathars, has a remarkable heptagonal Romanesque church which we will visit. We then ride through a Mediterranean landscape to Homps, a small port ideal for a coffee break. Alternating towpaths and small country roads, we arrive in Narbonne. We then cycle to the Mediterranean coast on a beautiful path surrounded by marshes. We pass the medieval village of Gruissan and discover the immense white sand beach of Gruissan Plage. Today we cycled from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean! After a swim and relaxing break, we transfer by bus to Narbonne and have dinner at the Brasserie du Moulin.

Day 9 : Departure

Our morning will be spent exploring Narbonne, the former capital of the Roman province that boasts a wealth of historical and religious heritage. Guests may depart individually or, if preferred, we can arrange further organisation (please contact us for details).
