Istria, an almost unexplored paradise, is washed by the deep blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, awaiting your discovery on this electric bike excursion. While the inland regions are marked by fragrant herbal meadows, thriving orchards, delightful vineyards, and shimmering olive groves extending across verdant hills, the coastline captivates with its petite beaches, fjords, and crystal-clear waters, in addition to the charming coastal towns with serene harbours and awe-inspiring vistas of the sea. The diverse history of this extraordinary region is reflected in the unique architecture of each tiny village. We start our tour of the three countries in Trieste. Small roads and a beautiful bike path on a disused railway line will lead us to the Brion Islands, passing through Slovenia and Croatia. Join us for a journey lulled by the sound of the Adriatic Sea.

Day 1: Trieste

Your guide awaits for an afternoon meeting in Trieste, the city that melds the finest aspects of two worlds: the Italian way of life and the grandeur of the Austro-Hungarian imperial era. An informative tour of the city immerses us in a holiday state of mind. We enjoy real Italian coffee in one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, the Piazza dell' Unità d'Italia.

Day 2: Panoramic tour with sea view - approx. 42 km

A boat takes us across the bay of Trieste to Muggia. From there we cross the Slovenian border by bike. We ride along La Parenzana, an old narrow-gauge railroad line that has been converted into a bicycle path. Our journey takes us through an enchanting realm of dense green oaks, cultivated gardens, and olive groves. A visit to the old town of Koper is highly recommended, with its stunning Venetian palaces that exude an air of antiquity. The bicycle path leads us, partly along the Adriatic Sea, to Portorož and then along the beach promenade to Piran. This beautiful little Venetian town is called "the pearl of the Adriatic". We settle into our hotel by the sea and stroll through the village.

Day 3: Salt marshes and sunsets - approx. 51 km.

We cycle along the Piran Bay to the salt marshes of Sečovlje. The delta at the mouth of the river has created a unique biotope here. More than 270 species of birds can be observed in the meadows. The journey continues along the coast towards the border and Savudrija. A delicious picnic and a swimming break await us at the oldest lighthouse in Croatia. Afterwards, we will have enough time for coffee and cake in Umag, a small picturesque town with a history dating back to the Stone Age. A final stop takes us to our hotel in Novigrad. A walk in the city and dinner will end our day.

Day 4: Karst and artists - approx. 54 km

We cycle quietly to Antenal and continue along the Mirna river to our picnic near Buje. GroŽnjan, the town of artists, is our next destination. We discover this small medieval town with its galleries, cafes and street art on foot. The picturesque road winds like a lazy river on the way to Motovun, the regional truffle center of Istria. From a viewing platform, we admire the view of our final destination, which is not far away. Overlooking the Mirna Valley, the hotel's terrace offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 5: Ham and urban symmetry - about 35 km

A bus takes us to Beram and the "chapel in the forest", before continuing by bike to our picnic area in Tinjan. Since Roman times, the people who live here have been proud of their traditions, from smoked ham to blacksmithing. We continue to ride with pleasure, as the route is mainly downhill. Smooth turns guide us to Bačva (which means wine barrel) where we take a coffee break. We pedal casually to Poreč, a charming little town with Roman symmetry. A guided tour of the town allows us to discover, among other things, the Basilica of Euphrasius.

Day 6: Steep streets and beaches - approx. 29 km

We reach Rovinj by boat along the coast. Founded on a hilly peninsula, its brightly coloured houses seem to be built directly into the sea. The steep streets of the old town are full of small galleries, lively bars and typical restaurants, while the harbour is home to fishing boats and pleasure craft. After a picnic lunch, we head to Cisterna Bay for a swim. It is only a short drive to our hotel in Fažana, which is located directly on the sea. We will still have time to stroll and swim (2 nights).

Day 7: Brijuni Islands Nature Park - approx. 12 km

The 14 islets, once the personal safari park of Tito, have now been transformed into a nature park that is open to all. We can look forward to green hills, rugged bays, and small beaches with crystal-clear waters. Around eleven o'clock we take the boat to one of the islands. On a grand tour of the island, we discover the excavations of the Roman villas, take a look at Tito's museum and let the impressive coastal landscape and its play of colours fascinate us. In the afternoon, the boat takes us back to the coast.
