Join us on this electric bike tour and discover the wild natural landscapes, nestled amongst forested mountain ranges and stunning gorges, as well as medieval castles and cities steeped in tradition. Experience unforgettable wonders on this tour, including Monfragüe National Park, a bird of prey sanctuary, UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Ávila, Segovia, and Cáceres, and the mouth-watering "Jamón de Bellota" - a delectable Iberian ham made from acorn-fed pigs.
Travel informations
Day 1: Madrid, passionately Spanish
You will meet your guide in the afternoon in Madrid, the lively capital of Spain. It offers the visitor elegant boulevards as well as large, well-kept parks, lively shopping streets and the imposing Plaza Mayor with its colonnades. We discover this cosmopolitan metropolis during a guided tour. Our tour culminates at the Mercado San Miguel market, where we'll savour a relaxed and flavoursome tapas dinner amidst a vibrant atmosphere.
Day 2: Pedraza - Segovia - about 55 km
The day begins with a bus transfer to the medieval village of Pedraza, which has been designated a "National Cultural Property" since 1951. From there, we get on our electric bikes to reach our destination, Segovia, through selected small roads. One of the main attractions of Segovia is the castle that stands in the western part of the old city, overlooking the confluence of the rivers Eresma and Clamores. The historic streets and lively squares invite you for an evening stroll.
Day 3: 3. Segovia - Ávila - approx. 59 km
After breakfast, we will visit Segovia's cathedral and its tower, which offers the best view of the city. Next, we'll pedal across the plain towards El Espinar where our bus awaits. We'll then transfer to Ávila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Together with Segovia and Cáceres, it is one of the three historical centres located in the surroundings of the Spanish capital. The city wall, built between the 11th and 14th centuries, is impressive for its state of preservation, its 88 powerful round towers and its nine doors.
Day 4: From the heights of the Sierra de Gredos - approx. 40 km
In the morning, a visit to the cathedral of Ávila is a must. This Gothic cathedral, probably the first in Spain, is interesting because its semicircular apse, stabilised by buttresses, was integrated into the city's fortifications. After a bus transfer to the Sierra de Gredos pass, we ride down to the valley with a magnificent view of another curiosity: the Cuevas del Águila. This impressive cave of stalactites, dating back more than twelve million years, is more than 50 metres underground. In the evening, we relax in the historic town of Parador of Oropesa.
Day 5: Oropesa - Parque de Monfragüe - approx. 40 km
Our Parador hotel is encircled by a magnificent fortress. We'll embark on a guided tour in the morning to explore it thoroughly. Afterwards, we'll take a drive to the Monfragüe National Park.We cycle through this haven of bird protection and see the largest concentration of griffon vulture nests on impressive rocks. We are flown over by black storks, imperial eagles, golden eagles and even Egyptian vultures. We enjoy our picnic in the middle of this magical environment. In the afternoon, we will discover the "Pinturas Rupestres" rock paintings before going to our hotel located in the surroundings of Monfragüe.
Day 6: Boat trip on the Tagus and Caceres - approx. 23 km
Today, we'll pedal our way to the Tagus River and bask in the stunning views of its picturesque valley during an exclusive boat trip, accompanied by a knowledgeable naturalist guide. In the afternoon we will reach Cáceres. Here, on vast meadows planted with cork and holm oaks, pigs have been raised for centuries, and their hams (jamón ibérico) are among the emblematic products of Spanish agriculture. In the early evening we will visit the old town of Caceres, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 7: Trujillo and Guadalupe - about 35 km
In the morning, we transfer by bus to Trujillo, a medieval city where Francisco Pizarro, conqueror of the Inca empire, was born. After visiting the natural and ornithological reserve of the Embalses de Sierra Brava dam, we will enjoy the Via Verde, a bicycle path built on an old railway embankment. After departing from Logrosán, we'll board a bus to reach Guadalupe, a pilgrimage destination renowned for its royal monastery, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll explore the site before enjoying dinner and spending the night in Guadalupe.
